The Goat Farm has backed Atlanta's artists for years, Studio Studio included. For Loop, its new venture with Georgia Tech Arts, they asked us to handle the building's lighting end to end: fixtures, control hardware, zone mapping, and the software staff use to run it all.
Loop is a 15,000-square-foot cultural hub with seven outdoor acres, built inside the former Randall Brothers warehouse complex on Marietta Street in West Midtown. It anchors Georgia Tech's emerging Creative Quarter and houses exhibitions, concerts, events, and rentable studios. The lighting had to serve all of it. Staff needed to set the mood for a normal day, build scenes for a specific show, and hand control to visiting artists or their own operators without calling us.
We installed 125 two-meter DMX pixel tubes, custom-made by our longtime manufacturing partner. Advatek pixel controllers drive the tubes, and ENTTEC ELM handles the mapping across zones. On top of that we built Dimly, a Next.js app that runs on the local network alongside the ENTTEC API. It lets staff save scenes, switch moods, and patch in outside lighting control for individual shows.
We're glad to be part of a real bet on Atlanta's creative scene.
