DËBRAIN, a design, branding, and interactive agency, was building a touchscreen exhibition at Cox Communications headquarters in Atlanta. They first came to us for installation: set up the hardware and make sure everything ran smoothly.
They had pitched the experience to Cox but didn't have a development team. We built a working prototype from their concept in a few days, and the job grew. Alongside installation and maintenance, we took on interface design, UX, and full development.
The experience centers on Cox's sustainability initiative, a company-wide pledge across four pillars. DËBRAIN designed the pages; we developed them. Employees enter their name and email at the kiosk and commit to the pledge.
We deployed it on five 55-inch ViewSonic touchscreens, each driven by a Dell mini PC running Chrome in kiosk mode. On boot, each machine checks the repository, pulls any updates, and launches straight into the experience, locked so visitors can't exit to the desktop.
Outcome
The kiosks reached one building, and Cox employees work across the country. After launch, Cox asked for a version everyone could use. Working with Cox's brand team, we built a mobile and desktop pledge site rolled out nationwide, aligned with their data and privacy policies.
